The town itself offers visitors a true taste of Asturian life, with its atmospheric old town, Romanesque churches and a number of stunning local beaches just a short drive away.
The sweeping Playa de Rodiles, one of the best beaches in the province is just a 15 minute drive away. The countryside surrounding Villaviciosa is famous for its many apple orchards, and the local sidra (cider) produced here is famous throughout Spain for its distinctive fresh taste.
